The hunger strike 50 volunteers entered in the DBP headquarters in Amed for communication with Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues to receive support as it enters its 7th day. Banners saying “You cannot dim our Sun” in opposition to the conspiracy against Öcalan in 1998 were hanged in the Vedat Aydın Conference Hall where the hunger strike takes place.
Many visitors including DBP provincial and district administrators, members of the Peace Bloc, Amed Co-Mayors Gültan Kışanak and Fırat Anlı, other co-mayors, HDP İstanbul Parliamentarian Pervin Buldan, HDP Amed Parliamentarian Feleknas Uca and HDP Batman Parliamentarian Ayşe Acar Başaran showed solidarity with the hungers strikers yesterday.
In response to the news on Öcalan’s meeting with his family members, the hunger strikers ruled out the news as fabricated and called upon people to ignore them.
Artist Xero Abbas and Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality City Theatre performers performed in the DBP headquarters to show solidarity with the hunger strikers, who sang songs between 19:00 and 21:00 yesterday.
