A hunger strike action was launched in Martyr Rustem Cudi Camp in Maxmur, Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) under the leadership of Ishtar Assembly in solidarity with the hunger strikes continuing in the prisons of Turkey and Northern Kurdistan demanding an end to the isolation on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and rights violations in prisons.
Today the 49th group took over the hunger strike in Makhmur, which has been going on for 97 days.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Seyfedin Fendik commended the resistance of guerrillas against Turkish invasion and wished a happy Newroz to everyone.
“Those resisting will be victorious,” he stressed.
