The politicians and activists on hunger strike with the demand Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan be contacted immediately voiced their joint message and said, “Our demonstration will continue until Mr. Öcalan is free.”
The hunger strike led by DTK, HDK, KJA, DBP and HDP with the demand Öcalan be contacted is on its fourth day. Hunger strike participatants underlined that freedom for Öcalan is freedom for the whole society and shared their messages:
Democratic Regions' Party (DBP) Central Committee Member Gülcihan Şimşek: Öcalan’s freedom is first women’s freedom and the whole society’s freedom. We will continue our demonstration until we hear from the Leader.
Film maker İbrahim Yıldırım: Art can not exist without will, we are protecting our will.
KJA Member Elif Haran: We are concerned for the health and safety of the Leader. Meetings must be held as soon as possible.
Bağlar District Administrator Hüseyin Çelik: Mr. Öcalan’s freedom is the freedom of all peoples. We call everybody to support our demonstration.
78’s Association Member Talat Emre: Mr. Öcalan is resisting for the freedom of the Kurdish people. And we lay our bodies down to hunger for Mr. Öcalan’s freedom. Be Serok jiyan nabe!
78’s Association Member Rıfat Roni: Mr. Öcalan is the honor of the people of Kurdistan and we protect our honor.
TUHAD-FED Administrator Murat Döner: Peoples can’t be free until Mr. Öcalan is free. We call on all Kurdish people to protect and support our demonstration.
