Reactions grow against the detention of Amed Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayors Gültan Kışanak and Fırat Anlı and the raid on the municipality building.

Hundreds of people that continue waiting in front of the municipality since last night have started an indefinite sit-in despite the attacks by heavily deployed police forces.

On the other hand, it has been learned that Co-mayors Kışanak and Anlı, who are being held at provincial police headquarters, will not be allowed access to their lawyers for 5 days. The ban has reportedly been imposed by Diyarbakır Public Prosecutor's Office.
