Iran's Ministry of Intelligence (Itlaat) detained at least 8 people in the town of Shino in East Kurdistan citing political motives. The HDK (Hizba Demokrat a Kurdistan) Foreign Relations Committee confirmed the detentions.
In a statement, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence told the Iranian official media that several people had been taken into custody in the town of Shino in East Kurdistan.
The Ministry of Intelligence claimed that the detained people were members of a group that crossed from South Kurdistan (Iraq) into East Kurdistan (Iran).
The Ministry further claimed that the group members had crossed into East Kurdistan to carry out bomb attacks in memory of Dr. Qasimlo.
HDK Foreign Relations Committee Spokesperson İsmail Rehmani spoke to Rojnews about the reports and confirmed that at least 8 people were detained, yet it was not clear whether the detainees were their own members or civilian citizens.
The names of those confirmed detained are: Ferheng Keramet, Pirot Tabnak, Siyamend Alani, Xoşnaw Aynî, Faran Ebrahîmî, Rehman Safixî, Muhamed Tahazade.
