Iraqi border guards deploy troops to Duhok countryside

Troops of the Iraqi Border Guard Army were deployed in the countryside of Duhok province with armored vehicles.

Troops of the 4th Brigade of the Iraqi Border Guard Army, accompanied by armored vehicles, moved towards the village of Zerzêrî in Kanîmasî in Dohuk on Tuesday evening.

The attack in Dohuk and the deployment of Iraqi border guards coincided with the intense diplomatic traffic of Turkish state officials in Baghdad and Hewlêr (Erbil) in recent weeks.

Earlier in the week, the head of the Hashd al-Shaabi, Falih Fayyad, was also hosted by Turkish officials in Ankara. No official announcement was made regarding the military deployment in the region.
