A delegation from Italy has paid a visit to Qandil region in guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory. The delegation visited the Qandil Municipality, Mehmet Karasungur Martyrs' Cemetery and the Zergelê village which was bombed by Turkish jets on August 1, 2015.

The Italian delegation was welcomed by co-mayors at Qandil Municipality and received information regarding the situation in Qandil region and the Turkish state's bombardments on civilian settlements in the region.

The delegation afterwards visited the Mehmet Karasungur Martyrs' Cemetery and the Museum of Martyrs.

The Italian delegation later went to the Zergelê village for an on-site examination where Turkish jets committed a massacre on August 1, 2015, and visited the museum formed in memory of Zergelê martyrs.

The delegation also intended to cross into Rojava but was hindered by KDP forces.
