KCK Executive Council member Duran Kalkan expressed that the Rojava Revolution illuminated the Middle East and the whole of humanity and that the resistance told the world about the Kurdish struggle.
In an interview scheduled to be published in the coming days where he analyzed the war incited by the Turkish state on July 24, Kalkan also gave statements on the upcoming anniversary of the Rojava Revolution.
Kalkan said he celebrated and saluted the will that emerged in Kobanê on July 19, 2012 and continued: “I respectfully commemorate all heroic martyrs. Two years later, Kobanê became the defense center of the Rojava Revolution again. It turned into an area that defines the fate of the region. The victory in Kobanê took root. It broke the ISIS fascism. This victory spread to all of Cizirê. With that, a great portion of Rojava Kurdistan achieved democratic unity.”
Saying that they hoped the Democratic Syrian Forces will gift the people with the freedom of Manbij on the fourth anniversary of the revolution, Kalkan saluted the struggle of these forces and celebrated their revolution of freedom.
Kalkan pointed out that Rojava was always in resistance against threats from Turkey and that it always stood strong: “It defended the gains of the Kurdish people and their future. It continued showing the world what the Kurdish resistance is, which develops and continues to this day. The Rojava Revolution continues illuminating the Middle East and the whole of humanity on its fourth anniversary. These developments are proof that the Revolution continues, develops and is marching on to new victories. In this sense, I celebrate the 4th anniversary of the July 19 Revolution of Freedom for the people of Rojava and humanity in general, I respectfully commemorate the martyrs and wish great success upon the Rojava freedom forces in the Manbij operation, and in their fight for a democratic Syria against ISIS.”
