KCK: All peoples should side with the resistance

KCK called upon the peoples of Kurdistan and the world to side with the resistance of Rojava Revolutionaries and Syrian peoples with the spirit of November 1 World Kobanê Day and 6-7-8 October events in North Kurdistan.

KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency issued a written statement on November 1 World Kobanê Day. In its statement, KCK recalled that World Kobanê Day actions were carried out two years ago, and humanity sided with Rojava revolutionaries against ISIS fascism in Kobanê.

KCK said “One of the greatest solidarity events of humanity’s history provided great moral support to Rojava revolutionaries and helped secure Kobanê victory. On the second year anniversary of November 1 World Kobanê Day, we salute everyone in solidarity and believe that this solidarity will play a crucial role in the creation of a free and democratic life in the Middle East.”

KCK stated that Kurds will not forget November 1 World Kobanê Day and as the first great solidarity of the 21st century, and that this day will have an important place in the struggle for freedom, democracy and socialism. KCK noted that November 1 World Kobanê Day will also be the basis of future acts of solidarity and struggle, in which the Kurdish Freedom Movement will participate and fulfill its duty.

KCK underlined that it does not see the solidarity on November 1 as solidarity with only Kurdish people and Rojava Revolution but also with all oppressed peoples, the peoples of the Middle East and the struggle for democracy and freedom.

KCK Executive Council emphasized that November 1 Kobanê Day played an important role in Rojava Revolution’s transformation into a global phenomenon, and said “international solidarity helped Rojava Revolution reach success and play a historic role in the unification of revolutionary and democratic forces across the world. In this sense, our Freedom Movement will continue the struggle of November 1 World Kobanê day and deepen the international spirit of the revolution of freedom. The solidarity and moral support of peoples and democracy forces are more important than material and military support. If the peoples of the world, particularly the people of North Kurdistan and Turkey, had not supported Kobanê resistance, there would not be a victory in Kobanê. In this sense, the people of Kobanê will always commemorate this day of solidarity with Rojava revolutionaries and Kurdish people. The spirit of solidarity will be the basis of the spirit of freedom and democracy.

Although Kobanê was saved from occupation with the support on November 1 World Kobanê Day, the dangers surrounding the peoples of Rojava and Syria are not over yet. Today, the Turkish state is trying to do what ISIS could not do, which is occupying Rojava and Syria in order to suffocate the gains of the peoples of Rojava and Syria for democracy and a free life. Peoples of Syria are resisting the Turkish state, and we emphasize that we side with the revolutionary and democratic resistance of Syrian peoples. We call upon the peoples of Kurdistan and the world to side with the resistance of Rojava Revolutionaries and Syrian peoples with the spirit of November 1 World Kobanê Day and 6-7-8 October events in North Kurdistan.

November 1 World Kobanê Day will live on in Kurdish people’s struggle for freedom and democracy, and will be crowned with a free and democratic Middle East.”
