KCK Education Committee released a statement calling on Kurdish people to protest the assimilative education policies and cultural genocide policies of the Turkish state at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year.
'TURKISH STATE USING SCHOOLS AS A FRONT OF CULTURAL GENOCIDE'
KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Education Committee pointed to the deepening cultural and physical genocide of the fascist Turkish state which -it said- used schools as a means and front of assimilation and cultural genocide as part of its annihilation and denial policy pursued against Kurds and Kurdistan.
"Today, Turkish state is using schools as military headquarters in which physical and cultural genocide is intertwined, revealing the hidden true face of the occupant fascist Turkish state. With an alliance of black, white and green fascism, the policies of enmity against Kurds and democratic powers have been brought to the highest level. Unable to tolerate the identities of Kurds and democratic powers, these serve the benefits of the system. Within this scope, thousands of teachers have been suspended recently in order for an all-out suppression."
'STRUGGLE AND RESISTANCE ONLY CHOICE AGAINST FASCIST OCCUPATION'
KCK underlined that Kurdish and democratic, revolutionary and socialist circles have no choice other than struggle and resistance against the fascist and occupant hegemony of the Turkish state, adding: "By regarding the attacks of the occupant forces as an opportunity for the building of democratic autonomy, we need to rid ourselves of the Turkish education system which is for cultural and physical genocide, and develop our own democratic education system with all our power. We should turn every house and proper area into a field of education. Right to mother tongue is a natural, fundamental and legitimate right."
KCK called on all patriotic, revolutionary and democrat teachers to educate children and youths in accordance with the Kurdish language, mindset and curriculum, emphasising that the education of children and youths is too vital and sacred to be handed over to another power.
KCK ended its statement by calling on Kurds to take to the streets and stage demonstrations in protest at the assimilative education system of the fascist Turkish state that imposes physical and cultural genocide.
