KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Presidency Council issued a written statement on the 18th anniversary of the February 15 1999's international conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

In its statement, KCK said “The gains of the 'national existence war' led by the PKK have been seen as a great threat to the interests of international colonialist and capitalist forces. These international colonialist and capitalist forces viewed entering the new century with 'the existence of Free Kurd' as a threat to their interests. They implemented the conspiracy in order to remove the threat of 'the Free Kurd' and the PKK, which they saw as obstacles in the way of the Greater Middle East Project. The main goal of the international conspiracy was to prevent Kurds from entering the 21st century as a people with political will and a free nation. In this way, international powers wanted to design the Middle East in order to protect their colonialist interest. They saw Leader Apo, his movement and the gains of Kurdish people as the main threats to their global goals and interests. This is why Kurdish people, movement and national democratic gains have been captured in the person of Leader Apo. Our Leader's response to the conspiracy has been based on defeating the projects of the powers behind this conspiracy. The response of both our Leader and of Kurdish people and movement to the conspiracy has been resistance and regeneration."

GREATEST PARADIGM OF THIS AGE IN RESPONSE TO THE GREATEST CONSPIRACY OF THE AGE

In its statement, KCK described the February 15 Conspiracy as the greatest conspiracy of this age and remarked that in response, Öcalan developed the greatest paradigm of this age. KCK said “Under the conditions of captivity, our Leader responded to the conspiracy with a mental revolution. He offered the most progressive ideas of this age to Kurdish and other peoples, women and oppressed groups. With his theories, he brought together the paradigm of a new, free and democratic life. With his Free Life and Free Society thesis, he have the greatest response to the greatest conspiracy of this age. His Defense of Democratic Civilization is the defense of Kurds, women and all other oppressed groups. It is the defense of the Free Human and Free Society. The Democratic, ecologic, and gender-libertarian social paradigm Leader Abdullah Öcalan developed in Imrali prison is a paradigm of new life and struggle that will change the fate of all oppressed groups in the 21st century. The imprisonment at Imrali did not go as the powers behind the conspiracy planned and it became a process of development for ideas and thoughts on a democratic and free society and humanity. Leader Öcalan's ideas and thoughts are being transformed into a social system everywhere Kurds live today. They are becoming a new life and resistance. Kurds, women and other oppressed groups are being inspired by these developments.

The colonialist Turkish state and some of the powers behind the conspiracy are trying to accomplish what they failed to accomplish with the international conspiracy of February 15, 1999, with new initiatives. The conspiracy has been re-organized today by the international allies of the fascist AKP-MHP coalition. The policies implemented in Imrali prison everyday are unlawful and systemic policies targeting a single individual. It would be a grave mistake to approach these policies as the Turkish state's general policies in prisons. The isolation on Imrali is the main reason behind the conflict and the lack of a resolution for the Kurdish issue. This is because neither Kurdish people nor the freedom movement accepts the isolation of Leader Öcalan. They will continue to resist these policies in the future."

ROJAVA REVOLUTION, SHENGAL AND THE SELF GOVERNMENT RESISTANCES HAVE TORN THE CONSPIRACY APART

KCK pointed out the level the Kurdish Freedom Movement has reached throughout Kurdistan and stressed that the gains in Rojava, Shengal and Northern Kurdistan have voided the conspiracy. The KCK statement continued as follows:

“In the aftermath of the international conspiracy, there have been great turmoil and important developments in Kurdistan and the Middle East. Within those developments, there have been great gains achieved by the Kurds after a great struggle at a high price. There is the reality of the Rojava Revolution that developed after a great accumulation of struggles. There is the Self Government Resistance process in Bakur. There have been unprecedented resistance processes in Shengal and Kobanê. There is a level of friendship, fraternity and mutual solidarity that has developed with the peoples of the region. There is the Democratic Confederalism system that is turning into a serious democratic society model. A new democratic-confederative living culture is starting to develop and flourish. All these are developments and gains that have come to pass with great heroism and at a great price. Kurds have reached a conscious, proud, political and organized level as a society that won’t kneel or bow their head down in front of any hegemonic power. Today, the AKP-MHP coalition targets this level of development and gains that the Kurds have achieved, with the unlimited fascism they practice on an anti-Kurdish basis. They are trying to push for the old submissive, conniving, self-denying Kurdishness again. Our people will void these impositions with the political organization level they have reached.”

THE KURDS ARE NOT WITHOUT OPTIONS

KCK commented on the Turkish state’s genocidal policies against the Kurdish people and stated that the colonialist system is fracturing, and that the Kurdish people are not without options. The statement included the following:

“The colonialist Turkish state is constantly using Leader Apo’s imprisonment as a threat over the struggle waged by the Kurdish people and the Kurdish Movement. But at the point we are at, the colonialist state system has entered a great period of disintegration. They define this period as a second war of independence and national struggle. AKP thinks they will regain this period and regain their footing with the racist-nationalist-fundamentalist fascist politics they are implementing in their coalition with the MHP. But that is a great delusion, and they are dragging Turkey into a great chaos. Colonialism has run its course in Kurdistan and Turkey, and it can’t avoid disintegration. In the current stage, Turkey has no options left but to solve the Kurdish issue and to democratize. The fascism and genocidal politics in place deepen the chaos and drag the country over the cliff. The colonialist Turkish state is without options in this matter. But all should know that the Kurds are not.

AKP IS COMMITTING CRIMES

Our leader not seeing his lawyers for the last 5 years is an arbitrary practice by the AKP. Not allowing any meetings with his lawyers since July 2011 is a great violation of the law and human rights. The explanation Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ gives is a misleading lie. Tricking the public through giving false and misleading information is a crime politically, and immoral socially. Although the lawyers have appealed for visits every week, our Leader has not been allowed to meet with his lawyers for five years. The lawyer ban has entered its sixth year. The AKP government has been committing this crime for the last six years. This is a crime that needs to be prosecuted by international justice and judiciary institutions. It is a Human Rights crime. It is a democracy crime. At the current state, this crime the AKP has been committing has spread over the whole of Turkey. In general, Turkey is under not the rule of law, but the rule of AKP and Erdoğan right now. It is under Erdoğan-Bahçeli rule. It is under fascism rule. The existing laws have been cast aside, and they are running the country according to the law of their own interest. To make it look legitimate, he is attempting to turn his own interest laws into actual official laws. He has taken the legislative, executive and judiciary power into his monopoly. He has all but taken hostage the fundamental powers. In the current state, Turkey has no cure left but to swiftly save itself from this enslavement by Erdoğan and his AKP. Turkey’s democracy answering the AKP-MHP fascism with a great NO in the upcoming referendum process is the only visible way to save Turkey from this enslavement.

KURDISH PEOPLE STAND UP TO DEATH FOR THEIR FUTURE

Currently, Kurdish people have gained the will to end the international conspiracy and the captivity on Imrali. Our people are struggling for the freedom of Leader Öcalan everywhere. We salute these organized protests. Those that have plans around the life of Leader Öcalan at a time when our people are working for our Leader's freedom should know that they are playing with fire. We warn these powers. They should know that they will not prevail. The health and security of Leader Öcalan is the future of Kurdish people, and Kurdish people stand up to death for their future."

WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS THROUGH A GLORIOUS RESISTANCE

In its statement, KCK Presidency Council said that Kurdish people would eventually prevail, stressing that: "This conspiracy is the biggest of its kind in the 20th century and our struggle is the biggest of its kind in this age. Free days are coming to Kurdistan soon. The months ahead will be the process of liberating our Leader and democratizing Turkey. Just like how comrade Çiyager said before falling as a martyr in Sur or how Mehmet Tunç said in Cizre before he passed away, this struggle will have a glorious end. The beautiful days that Mother Taybet from Botan or Cemile dreamt of are near. The days of freedom where children such as Miray, Ceylan Önkol, Uğur Kaymaz and Berkin Elvan can play freely in the streets are near. As our Leader often says, hope is more valuable than victory. It is necessary to stand up with hope and faith, and to enhance the resistance for better days. Everyone will see that not a single drop of blood that Kurdish people shed is in vain and victory is near. With our people, we will prevail. Together, we will freely greet our Leader on the walls of Amed."
