KCK Executive Council Co-presidency: “With the Sheladize uprising, the Kurdish people have shown that they don’t accept the invasion attacks and that all the nation must stand up whenever there is an attack against anywhere in Kurdistan.”
Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Co-presidency issued a written statement on the Turkish state attacks against the Xakurke area and said, “The Turkish state has launched a new invasion attack against the Xakurke area. This invasion attack is a continuation of the invasion attack by the AKP-MHP fascist government against all parts of Kurdistan. This invasion operation has shown that the AKP-MHP fascist government is not just an enemy to Bakure (Northern) Kurdistan, but to all of Kurdistan. It is a new piece of proof that the genocidal colonialist Turkish state is a leader in hostility against Kurds. This attack is not just against the Kurdish Freedom Movement, it is also against Bashure (Southern) Kurdistan and Iraq.”
"KDP IS BECOMING A PARTNER IN THE ATTACKS"
The statement continued: “This attack has been enabled by dirty negotiations and historic stumblings. The facts that the Iraqi prime minister visited Turkey just before this attack, that the Iraqi President held meetings in Turkey on the day of the attack, that the attack coincided with the election of the regional president in Southern Kurdistan, that Erdogan met with the US after the invasion operation show that the attack had many players involved. The inability to put forth a stance against the invasion attack also shows this reality. The KDP cites the presence of the guerrilla as an excuse for the invasion to legitimize these attacks and encourage invasion operations. Receiving the Turkish army in the Xakurke region and announcing that they will aid the invaders clearly shows where the KDP stands regarding the invasion attacks. In a historic oversight, the KDP is becoming a partner in these attacks.
Especially after the AKP’s stance regarding the independence referendum and the Kirkuk crisis, they have been more and more silent in the face of such attacks. The silence of the legitimate government of Southern Kurdistan paves the way for more invasions. Right now, the Turkish army has dozens of bases in Southern Kurdistan as well as MIT locations. There rarely would be such large military forces and intelligence units in any occupied country. Right now, the MIT works with the Southern Kurdistan intelligence to carry out operations against the Freedom Movement. This reality showcases the fact that the KDP’s argument that the Turkish state attacks because of guerrilla presence is nothing but a veil they want to pull over the truth.
"ACTION MUST BE TAKEN AGAINST THE ATTACKS"
In the face of silence by the Iraqi state, Southern Kurdistan’s government and the political parties, the duty falls on the shoulders of the patriotic people of Southern Kurdistan, the youth, women and forces of democracy in the country, NGOs, and artists and intellectuals who act as the conscience of the community. To stop these invasion attacks from Turkey into an invasion operation against all of Southern Kurdistan, the people need to take action against the Turkish state invasion, and their military and MIT positions. The Kurdish people have shown that they don’t accept the invasion attacks and that all the nation must stand up whenever there is an attack against anywhere in Kurdistan. The people of Sheladize have shown everyone what true patriotism looks like. We call on the youth, the women and all of the people of Southern Kurdistan stand against the invasion attacks and to push back the attacks anywhere in Southern Kurdistan with the spirit of national unity. We are calling on all our people abroad and our allies to speak up against the invasion.
We are calling on the Iraqi state, the Southern Kurdistan government and political parties to protest this invasion. The struggle of the Kurdish Freedom Movement is not against any peoples or countries. Our Freedom Movement is only fighting to democratize the Middle East on the basis of the Kurdish people’s freedom. The biggest obstacle on this path is the
Turkish state, as personified by the AKP-MHP fascist alliance. As such, we are calling on all states in the region, all international powers and the global democratic public to stand against the Turkish state invasion.

We salute our heroic guerrilla comrades who have displayed a great resistance against the Turkish state invasion. We commend their sacred resistance. We believe that the freedom guerrilla, with their unwavering conviction and will, will respond to the invaders as they deserve.”
