KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-presidency issued a written statement on the 5th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution and said: “This model of a democratic revolution based on the democratic nation is under such attacks because it will send the AKP government’s genocidal nation state mindset and practice based on a single nation and a single homeland to the graveyard for genocide criminals.”

The KCK statement is as follows:

“We celebrate the Rojava Revolution made in the line of Leader Apo on its fifth year and remember with respect and gratitude the thousands of Kurdish, Arab, Syriac fighters and internationalist revolutionaries who were martyred making this revolution a reality and making it permanent. We stress once more our belief that the Rojava Revolution will be crowned with the democratic Syria and democratic Middle East.

The Rojava Revolution was born as a hope for salvation from the darkness the peoples of the Middle East are pushed into. As nationalism, sectarianism and religious fundamentalism weakens the Middle East by turning peoples and societies against each other, the Rojava Revolution birthed a political model that will strengthen the peoples of the Middle East in peace through a social system based on the democratic nation mindset and democratic confederalism. Right now, the cure for all the issues of the peoples of the Middle East is the Rojava Revolution and the Democratic Northern Syria Federation model. Other than this, there is no ideology or political system that will allow for the peoples of the Middle East and Syria in particular to live in peace, democracy and freedom. In this sense, the Rojava Revolution is the revolution of all the peoples of the Middle East, and the Democratic Northern Syria Federation is the political and social system to strengthen all the peoples of the Middle East and lead them into peace.

The Rojava Revolution and the Democratic Northern Syria Federation lights Syria’s future, and are an alternative to the deadlock in Syria. Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, Turkmens, Chechens, Êzidîs, Alevis, Shias, Sunnis, Ismailis and all ethnic and faith groups live in fraternity in Democratic Northern Syria Federation with their own autonomy within the democratic confederal social organizations and on this foundation strengthening Syria’s democratic unity. Right now, the only political project strengthening the democratic unity in Syria belongs to the Democratic Northern Syria Federation. This way, the peoples of the Democratic Northern Syria Federation are making the politics and the project of strengthening unity through the Democratic Nation ideology a reality against the policies of divide and conquer through nationalism, sectarianism and religious fundamentalism. The Democratic Northern Syria Federation, with this character, has become the hope for salvation for all the peoples of the Middle East as well as for Syria. 

On the anniversary of the Rojava Revolution, the genocidal colonialist AKP government calling the Democratic Northern Syria Federation a terror state and turning it into a target is due to the Democratic Northern Syria Federation model being a democratic revolutionary movement in the Middle East. This model of a democratic revolution based on the democratic nation is under such attacks because it will send the AKP government’s genocidal nation state mindset and practice based on a single nation and a single homeland to the graveyard for genocide criminals. The world knows that those who nurtured ISIS and other inhuman gangs and set them off on the peoples, those who turned Turkey into a country that supports terror and isolated the country from all the peoples of Europe and the Middle East are the AKP government, and their fascist chief is Tayyip Erdoğan.

The AKP-MHP government and their fascist chief Tayyip Erdoğan is afraid of the democratic character of the Efrîn Canton. That is why they are threatening to invade Efrîn, thus exposing once more that they are enemies of democracy and freedom, and enemies of Kurds. Tayyip Erdoğan’s and the AKP’s animosity towards Kurds is surfacing today as the most vile enemy of democracy and freedom.

On the fifth anniversary of the Rojava Revolution, we must stress once more that all the Kurdish people and the forces of democracy in the Middle East stand with the Rojava revolution and the Democratic Northern Syria Federation. If fascist Tayyip Erdoğan lays a hand on Efrîn, he will be defeated by the peoples and the democratic forces of the world like his soulmate ISIS. Tayyip Erdoğan and the AKP’s defeat will be the end of the AKP government and its fascist chief.

On the fifth anniversary of the Rojava Revolution, we are calling on all the peoples of Syria to come together around the Democratic Northern Syria Federation and join the movement to democratize Syria and strengthen the Middle East again befitting its history.”
