KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-presidency has issued a written statement on the detention of HDP co-chairs and MPs.

KCK said: “This is where words end. All the Kurdish people and the forces of democracy should rise up everywhere and resist. The youth, the women and all of Kurdish people should show the AKP government once more that the Kurdish will can not be broken. Today is the day for resistance.”

"A NEW PHASE OF THE TOTAL ATTACK"

The KCK statement is below:

“The fascist rule of AKP has detained several HDP MPs, including co-chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş. This attack is the latest addition to the implementation of the decision to repress the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people taken in the National Security Council meeting held on October 30, 2014. It is taking the total war attack launched on July 24, 2015 to a new phase. These detentions against HDP MPs are attacks aimed at breaking the will of of the people. These detentions also mean a disregard for the existence of the Kurdish people. The policy and decision to annihilate the Kurd by the genocidal colonialism has once more been laid out clearly.

"ARREST DECISION TAKEN MUCH EARLIER"

These decisions for the arrests were taken much earlier. They have only been waiting for the right tie and atmosphere. One of the matters the fascist chief Erdoğan discussed with fascist Devlet Bahçeli were these arrests. In this meeting, Tayyip Erdoğan got full support from Devlet Bahçeli. AKP and MHP have merged into one party now. All policies MHP defends are implemented today by the AKP.

These arrests were made on the 14th anniversary of AKP coming into power. As such, the true ideology and policies of the AKP have been laid out. With these, AKP has shown that they want to crush the Kurds and build a new hegemonic system. Tayyip Erdoğan wants to be the new founding leader, and AKP the new founding party to build an authoritarian hegemonic institutional fascism system through crushing Kurds. This attack by the AKP on Kurds and the forces of democracy is an attack to remove the obstacles on the way to building the system they foresee. In this context, these attacks will continue and increase. The only way to stop these attacks is the common struggle of the Kurdish people and the forces of democracy.

"THIS IS WHERE WORDS END"

These attacks are coordinated through a single center. All the media presenting the detention of the HDP MPs as “Anti-terror operation against HDP” is a result of this. The headlines to be used after these detentions were determined by that center which runs the special war against the Kurdish Freedom Movement. All future publications and statements will be in line with legitimizing these detentions. AKP will continue and escalate their policy of crushing revolutionary forces with the alliance they formed with MHP. This is where words end. In the face of this, all of the Kurdish people and the forces of democracy should rise up and resist. Not resisting and surrendering now will mean allowing the genocidal colonialism to continue their policy of annihilating the Kurd unabated.

"BASHUR, ROJAVA, ROJHILAT AND ALL KURDS SHOULD RISE UP"

The genocidal colonialist attack does not target the people of Bakurê Kurdistan alone. This is a genocidal attack on all Kurds, in Bashur, Rojava and Rojhilat. As such, Kurds everywhere in Kurdistan and the rest of the world should also rise up against this attack. All political parties of Kurdistan should display a common stance against these arrests and all Kurds should be called to fight against this attack. Especially all political forces in Bashurê Kurdistan should take a stance against this attack and should call the people to fight against the Turkish state. This attack is an attack that Kurds need to take a joint stand against and fight against in unity. All political powers that are silent in the face of this attack on the political will of the people of Bakurê Kurdistan will be historically implicated.

"TODAY IS THE DAY TO RESIST"

AKP and MHP are resisting the democratisation of Turkey. What Turkey needs is democracy. AKP and MHP carry out this attack because they are afraid of democracy. If the forces of democracy resist, these attacks will be thwarted, Turkey will be democratized and the Kurdish issue will be resolved. As such, we are calling on all forces of democracy and the progressive peoples who want Turkey’s democratization to fight against these attacks.

The Kurdish people should rise up in all cities and towns including Amed. The youth, the women and all of the Kurdish people should show the AKP government once more that the will of the Kurd can not be broken. Today is the day to resist. Today is the day to rise up against those who want to annihilate the very existence of the Kurd.”
