KCK vowed to honour the memory of Halabja victims in national unity and the struggle for free Kurdistan
KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-Presidency released a statement on the 29th anniversary of the Halabja massacre.
The statement underlined that: "The month of March is a month that witnessed several massacres against our people, the severest and most painful of which is Halabja in which thousands of people of ours were massacred with chemical weapons. At the anniversary of the massacre, we commemorate the Halabja victims with gratitude and respect, and reiterate our promise to honour their memory in national unity and the struggle to achieve free Kurdistan."
"TURKISH ATTACKS IN NORTHERN KURDISTAN A FOLLOW-UP OF HALABJA"
Remarking that the Halabja massacre was perpetrated on the basis of the centralist nation state mindset that denies the existence of Kurds, KCK said; "Not only are Kurds still denied as an equal nation and folk, but also the sense of genocidal colonialist nation state that aims to annihilate the existence of Kurds is maintained today. The ISIS' razing Kobanê to the ground and the Turkish state's leveling Sur, Cizre, Şırnak, Nusaybin, Silopi, Hezex, Kerboran and Gever to the ground constitute a continuation of the mindset that perpetrated the Halabja massacre. The Turkish state and other powers that pursue a policy of genocidal sovereignty on the Kurds have the same mentality and policy with the perpetrators of the Halabja massacre and ISIS.
In order to prevent more Halabja massacres, the sense of monist nation state, the genocidal mindsets that ignore diversities and the centralist authoritarian ruling mindsets need to be annihilated. Loyalty to the memory of Halabja victims depends, more than anything else, on giving a struggle against such mentalities. To this end, it is of great importance that the Kurdish people lead the democratic mindset and play their historic role in the democratization of the Middle East.
Democratization of the entire Middle East- the countries hegemonising the Kurds in the first place- is the only way to secure the existence of the oppressed, exploited and massacred peoples and communities and to ensure the attainment of a free and democratic life."
"WE WILL FULFILL OUR RESPONSIBILITIES TO PREVENT FURTHER MASSACRES"
KCK vowed that the Kurdish Freedom Movement will fulfill all their responsibilities in the struggle for the democratization of the Middle East to not allow another massacre of the Kurdish people and other peoples, and more cases of Kobanê, Cizre and Sur.
