According to the latest news, KDP and PUK reached a mutual agreement to abolish the regional presidency system.
KDP and PUK agreed to hold a parliamentary session on Friday and present offers to the parliament.
Masoud Barzani occupies the president’s office although his term ended more than two years ago. Barzani closed the parliament to remain in power and reopened it before the independence referendum on September 25.
