According to information obtained from some peshmergas in Hewler's Soran (Diyana) district and Balekayeti region, KDP has instructed and is putting pressure on the Zerevani (Special Forces) and peshmerga forces to make preparations for a battle against the PKK.

Local sources speaking to RojNews stated that some of the KDP peshmergas are uncomfortable with the preparations for a battle against PKK and these do not want to take part in this fighting.

On the other hand, it is claimed that KDP is having guerrilla uniforms sewn in some locations in Soran region as it is reported to be organizing counter-guerrilla units to fight the PKK guerrillas.
