Thousands of people from Şırnak and its districts have earlier today started a march towards Cizre and Silopi, both of which remain under a siege and onslaught by state forces.

HDP deputies and co-mayors of DBP held municipalities are among the thousands that have faced numerous obstacles and attacks by police and military forces on their way. The march to Silopi and Cizre is joined by a large number of people from Uludere, Beytüşşebap, Roboski, Kumçatı, İdil, Silopi and Şırnak, who are advancing from 6 locations.

ŞIRNAK

As workplaces remain closed and schools are boycotted in Şırnak city centre today, thousands have gathered outside HDP office as of early morning hours before starting a march to Cizre.

HDP deputies Lezgin Botan, Burcu Çelik, Leyla Birlik, Berdan Öztürk and executives of DBP-HDP were also present for the march which was attacked by police soon after beginning.

Thousands including deputies Leyla Birlik, Burcu Çelik and Berdan Öztürk have managed to overcome the barrier and continue the march to Cizre from the foothills of Mount Cudi.

In the meantime, the rest started a march to the city centre, which was also attacked by police in Gündoğdu neighborhood and Cumhuriyet Square. As people respond to the attack with self-defense, clashes are spreading across the city.

ULUDERE

Shutters have been taken down and schools boycotted also in Uludere district of Şırnak today as thousands started a march to Cizre in the early morning hours. While the mass has been hindered by gendarmerie near Şenoba town, tension continues in the area as people insist on continuing the march.

ROBOSKİ

Hundreds from Uludere's Roboski village who also left for Cizre today have similarly been stopped and obstructed by gendarmerie units at İnceler outpost. Roboski people keep waiting in the area and remain determined to walk to Cizre.

BEYTÜŞŞEBAP

Life has been brought to a standstill in Beytüşşebap district too, as thousands started to march to Cizre earlier today. While the mass faces the same obstacle by soldiers, many have overcome the barricades and are continuing to walk.

SİLOPİ

People from all villages of Silopi have also started a march to Cizre and Silopi in response to the ongoing curfew and onslaught in both districts. The march is going on despite all the attempts of hindrance.
