Kurdish youngster tortured by Iranian state forces in custody dies

A Kurdish youngster who was detained and tortured by the Iranian state forces during the 'Jin, Jiyan, Azadî' uprising died in surgery.

According to the Iranian media, a Kurdish boy named Berzîn Hemze, who was detained by the Iranian state, died in surgery.

According to reports, 16-year-old Berzîn Hemze from Serdesht city of East Kurdistan was detained by the Iranian state during the 'Jin, Jiyan, Azadî' (Woman, Life, Freedom) uprising. His family said that Hemze did not have any illness before he was detained. It was also reported that Hemze lost consciousness three times due to the torture he was subjected to while in detention.

It is reported that Berzîn Hemze lost his life during an operation due to the blows he had received during torture.
