Kurdish youth came together in a conference with the national congress on the agenda in Sulaymanıyah, Southern Kurdistan.

The conference titled “The Role of the Kurdish Youth in the Kurdish National Congress” started in Sulaymaniyah with the participation of various youth movements, led by the Kurdistan Patriotic Youth Movement.

The conference is considered a pre-preparation for the national congress. It is attended by various youth movements active in Southern Kurdistan, like Kurdistan student associations, the young women’s movement and the resurrection of youth movement.

The conference is set to take off with a panel conference on the negative impact of fragmentation on the national unity and the participants will discuss the situation created by the fragmentation in Kurdistan and its effects on the crisis in Southern Kurdistan. The participants will also discuss solutions to achieve national unity based on the perspective of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

“MOST CRUCIAL OF ALL...”

Conference Preparation Committee Member Perwez Rıfat said the aim of the conference is to have the youth discuss their role in the national congress. Rıfat said: “The Kurdish national conference is more crucial than anything else. If the Kurds can hold their national congress, they can lead the solution for not just the issues in Kurdistan, but in all of the Middle East. In this sense, we as the youth movements in Southern Kurdistan want to commonize our views and present our suggestions for all parties in this conference.”
