Manbij and surroundings cleared of mines planted by ISIS

The areas cleansed of ISIS during the operation to liberate Manbij area being cleared of mines planted by the gangs.

Manbij Military Council fighters are continuing their advance in Manbij by inflicting heavy blows on ISIS gangs. Fighters are on the other hand conducting search and sweep efforts in the houses and streets liberated from ISIS gangs.

A large number of mines planted by ISIS have been defused in the streets liberated during the recent days to the west and south of the city. A tunnel dug by ISIS for protection from airstrikes and a warehouse of the gangs have been discovered.

In the areas cleansed of ISIS gangs, Manbij fighters also discovered a house ISIS gangs used as a warehouse, which housed a large quantity of ammunition and many arms including IEDs, kalashnikov rifles, BKC, B7 rockets. The ammunition seized by ISIS also include flame throwers produced by Turkey and sent to ISIS gangs in trucks.

Another tunnel of the gangs was found out on the western front of the city. The tunnel which helped the gangs protect themselves from airstrikes, was destroyed after a detailed check.

On the other hand, professional units affiliated to the Manbij Military Council are spotting and defusing the mines ISIS have planted in houses, streets and fields to stop the advance of freedom forces.
