Civilian Defense Units YPS/ YPS-Jin have conducted an action against a police center upon a heavy aggression of state forces targeting several neighborhoods in Şırnak province since last night.

Heavy clashes have erupted between Civilian Defense Units YPS/YPS-Jin and state forces in Bahçelievler, Dicle and Yeni neighborhoods earlier today. Turkish forces' attacks with heavy arms were harshly responded by YPS/YPS-Jin, which resulted in intense clashes that continue since 11:00 local time.

In response to the aggression on Bahçelievler neighborhood which is supported by heavy arms, members of YPS and YPS-Jin conducted an action against the police center in the neighborhood where special operation police and armored military vehicles remain deployed since the declaration of self-rule by local people last year.

The police center was largely destroyed as a result of the missile action which was followed by clashes that lasted nearly an hour. Eyewitnesses told that casualties, which were too many, were taken out of the station in civilian and Ford Ranger cars used by police forces.

In the wake of the missile action, state forces deployed in government offices and Çakırsöğüt Gendarme Station have started an aggression on Bahçelievler and Ömerköy neighborhoods with heavy arms.

Civilian Mehmet Sıddık Tekmen (34) was heavily wounded after getting shot by a bullet in the head during the attacks by Turkish forces on Ömerköy neighborhood. Residents have rushed him to Şırnak State Hospital.

On the other hand, heavy clashes are ongoing in Dicle and Yeni neighborhoods which remain under a heavy attack by state forces. Special operation teams deployed in both areas are indiscriminatingly firing on civilian areas.

While Dicle neighborhood is intensely targeted by military vehicles deployed around the Provincial Directorate of Forestry, Yeni neighborhood remains under an uninterrupted attack by military vehicles around the Provincial Directorate of Culture.
