HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office released a statement providing information about a series of actions conducted by guerrillas in Oremar-Şemzinan area of Hakkari at 04:00 on 8 July.

In concurrent actions, guerrillas hit the Turkish soldiers deployed in Rubarok, Grana, Zeytê, Mamreş outposts and Xapuşkê, Çeta, Leylek, Martyr Rahime, Martyr Zerdeşt, Martyr Karker and Martyr Gafur hills.

Guerrillas infiltrated into Turkish army positions on Xapuşkê hill from two sides and hit the emplacements here effectively.

Soldiers on three small hills in Xapuşkê and the tents operating as command center were also hit by guerrillas from six sides.

During the series of actions that lasted nearly an hour, 4 emplacements of Turkish troops were destroyed and 5 soldiers were verified killed although the exact number of casualties is much higher.

Simultaneously, guerrillas hit the Rubarok, Grana and Hill Çeta outposts with mortars but the number of casualties left here couldn't be clarified.

Guerrillas also hit the Zeytê and Mamreş outposts with both heavy and light weapons, which left one tank and one watch tower destroyed, another tank damaged, and two soldiers dead.

During the same day, guerrillas hit the soldiers deployed around Martyr Rahime, Martyr Zerdeşt and Martyr Karker hills at between 05:45 and 06:45. The number of dead and injured soldiers left here couldn't be verified either.

From 07:00 to 08:00, guerrillas hit the soldiers positioned on Martyr Gafur hill from 5 sides. 5 rockets hit the location of soldiers but the number of dead or wounded soldiers couldn't be clarified.

Guerrillas also hit the Turkish army emplacements on Leylek hill with heavy weaponry at between 12:30 and 13:000 the same day.

Turkish jets bombarded Mergê, Dola Zeytê, Xapuşkê, Hill Xwedê, Hill Martyr Faraşin and Hill Martyr Diren in the wake of the expansive actions by guerrillas. Troops in the outposts in this area also bombed the mentioned scenes with mortar, howitzer and tank fire.

HPG said three guerrillas fell putting up a brave fight during the action, adding that their ID details will be made public once made clear.
