Thousands in Amed have gathered around the Human Rights Monument in Koşuyolu Park today before a planned march to the central Sur district where a state of siege continues for 64 days.

The demo led by DBP (Party of Democratic Regions), HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party), KJA (Free Women's Congress) and youth's movement DEM-GENÇ was traditionally disallowed by police forces heavily deployed in the area.

Thousands condemning the police blockade therewith walked to Sümerpark in protest at the ongoing onslaught, chanting the slogan "Bijî berxwedana Surê" [Long Live The Resistance of Sur].
