Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayor Ahmet Türk had been detained on November 21 along with several other politicians, including Artuklu Municipality co-mayors Emin Irmak and Leyla Sevinç.

Türk was referred to court earlier today with a demand for his arrest.

The leading Kurdish politician had exercised his right to remain silent and refused to give a statement to the police.
