Mass demo for Öcalan in South Kurdistan

South Kurdistan people will hold a demonstration to protest the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan in Hewler at 17:00 today.

Large number of people coming from Sulaymaniyah, Kirkuk, Şarezor and Raperin areas of South Kurdistan gathered in Kirkuk and left for Hewler in a large convoy for the mass demonstration which is organised by Kurdistan Free Society Movement (Tevgera Azadi), Kurdistan Free Women's Movement (RJAK) and Kurdistan Free Youth's Movement (Komalên Ciwan).

Masses from Makhmur will also join the demonstrators in Hewler.

Speaking to ANF about the rally, Tevgera Azadi co-chair Şilan Şakir said: “We have organised a mass demonstration in Hewler today to protest the isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The health and freedom of the Kurdish leader is the most urgent problem for Kurds today. We are inviting all our people to join the rally which will take place at 17:00 today.”

Şakir said demonstrators will gather at the Aynkawa Bridge and march to the Turkish Consulate where a press statement will be made.
