Martyr Rustem Cûdî (Maxmur) Refugee Camp Health Committee protested the isolation of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and the invading Turkish state's use of chemical weapons.
‘They will not achieve their goals'
In a statement, Health Committee member Xanim Babat said: “Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] is being isolated by international forces because he has the determination, belief and existence of the Kurdish people. In October, we condemned all the conspirators and the ruling powers, stating that they will never achieve their goals. We know nothing about Öcalan’s health because of the regime of isolation imposed on him. We are worried. Isolation is an inhumane crime.”
Chemical weapons used 150 times
Babat recalled that the Turkish state had launched invasion attacks against Zap, Avaşîn and other regions about five years ago, and added that Turkey has used chemical weapons against the guerrillas 150 times. “Even though these chemical weapons are prohibited by international treaties, the world turns a blind eye when they are used against the Kurds and the guerrillas. If we look at it from the health side, chemical weapons also pose a great danger to human health as well as animals and the environment."
Babat added: "On this basis, the Health Committee, calls on the Kurdish people and whoever says to be in favour of the protection of human rights to fight."
