The body of Mehmet Yıldırım (45), the father of four children, who was murdered by Turkish soldiers on May 24 in the Nenyas rural neighborhood of Amed's Lice district, was taken by his relatives from the Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK) on Saturday evening. Yıldırım's body was buried after religious rites in the village of Nenyas. Many people attended the funeral.
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) co-chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar, People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) Amed MP Serhat Eren, members of the Solidarity, Unity and Culture Association for Assistance with Families Who Lost Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations (MEBYA-DER), the relatives staging a Vigil for Justice in solidarity with prisoners and many party members also attended the funeral.
