Uğur Kaymaz was murdered by Turkish police at the age of 12, together with his father, truck driver Ahmet Kaymaz in Mardin province on November 21, 2004. Kaymaz was shot with 13 bullets.

Uğur's mother Makbule Kaymaz, a cleaning worker at Education Support House affiliated to Kızıltepe Municipality for 12 years, has been dismissed from job with a decree law. Makbule Kaymaz has been looking after her 3 children since the death of her husband and son.

The Turkish state which shot 13 bullets into 12 year-old Uğur's body and covered the murder by calling Uğur terrorist, did not hear mother Makbule Kaymaz who cried for justice for 12 years, and did not punish the murderers. The state furthermore dismissed Uğur's mother with a decree law on November 21, anniversary of her son's and husband's murder.

"THE STATE PUNISHED ME INSTEAD OF MURDERERS"

Mother Kaymaz spoke to ANF and said the followings: "I awaited justice from this state for 12 years. I awaited the punishment of the murderers of my son and husband. Yet, the state dismissed me from job on the anniversary of my son's death, when I suffer grief the most. I look after my three children with this salary."

"WE WILL RESIST INJUSTICE"

"It is enough. Let this atrocity and torture end", cried mother Kaymaz who was deprived of her job after her son and husband.

Mother Kaymaz continued as follows: "When Ahmet and Uğur were murdered, my three children were very little yet. There was nobody to look after them. So I started to work for Kızıltepe Municipality and earned a living for them since. Now, I am dismissed and have no one to take care of my children."
Mother Makbule Kaymaz said they will resist the injustice of the Turkish state.
