Police forces run the municipality works in municipalities seized by trustees in Van. The police have invaded the municipalities since the day the trustees were appointed and also carry out the correspondence with other institutions.

There are claims that the trustee has removed some unit supervisors from duty and appointed police officers in their place in İpekyolu Municipality.

As the people's protests against appointed trustees in İpekyolu, Edremit, Özalp and Erciş Municipalities in Van continue, the trustee appointed municipalities have started working. The police carried out the work on the day the municipality workers didn't go to work in protest of the trustee. The police called the unit supervisors and gave them instructions.

As this continued in all municipalities, the police called unit supervisors in trustee appointed municipalities and asked about the absent workers. In İpekyolu Municipality, there are reports that the trustee has removed some unit supervisors from duty on the first day and temporarily appointed police officers in their place.

In Özalp, the District Governor appointed as the trustee put up barricades around the Municipality as his first act. The police keep the people 100 meters away from the municipality with barricades in Özalp. In all trustee appointed municipalities, workers have to pass through strict searches to enter the Municipality to work.

The Edremit Municipality is under total blockade by the police. Nobody is allowed near the municipality with barricades surrounding the municipality building and close surroundings.
