Nasir Yagiz in critical condition: Having difficulty standing up

When Yagiz first wakes up, he is unable to stand up for 3 or 4 hours. He can’t use his feet, and can only stand up after several hours of exercising his muscles.

Nasir Yagiz has been on a hunger strike in Hewler, Southern Kurdistan for 84 days, and is starting to show critical symptoms.

Concern for Nasir Yagiz is rising as he starts to show arrhythmia symptoms.

Doctors giving Nasir Yagiz daily checkups said they have been observing irregularities in his heartbeat for the last 10 days.

When Yagiz first wakes up, he is unable to stand up for 3 or 4 hours. He can’t use his feet, and can only stand up after several hours of exercising his muscles.

Yagiz went on an indefinite nonalternating hunger strike 13 days after Leyla Guven, with the same demand of an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Nasir Yagiz is a young Kurdish man from Batman. He was forced to leave for Hewler due to Turkish state oppression. He was targeted by the Turkish regime for his struggle and was under arrest risk all the time.

Yagiz is on the second longest hunger strike in these protests, after Leyla Guven. He started his hunger strike on November 21. He has been hospitalized several times in the last few weeks, but he refuses treatment and says he will continue his hunger strike.
