The 5th group took over the demonstration in Van to support the hunger strikes.

The 5th group took over the demonstration launched in Van to support the ongoing hunger strikes by thousands of prisoners demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan. A large group is attending the demonstration in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Ipekyolu district offices and the people continue to visit the protesters.

Activist Rojbin Akdag said the isolation is being imposed upon all peoples through Ocalan. Akdag also said the hunger strikes have reached a critical phase and added: “We don’t want any losses from the prisons. We believe our protests will achieve results soon. We will continue until the isolation is ended.”

Seyfettin Ertas said: “We continue the hunger strike to end the isolation. We see that during this process the isolation is imposed upon the Kurdish people through Ocalan. We will stand by our friends on hunger strikes. We have never bowed down, and we will not bow down today. We will resist until the end.”
