Tens of thousands are celebrating Kurdish New Year Newroz with great enthusiasm across North Kurdistan.

KIZILTEPE

Newroz celebration began in Mardin's Kızıltepe district with the motto "We will definitely win". Citizens are allowed into the area after going through a checkpoint blocked with barriers and armored vehicles. HDP flags, photos of the HDP parliamentarians in jail, and "Happy Newroz" and "You cannot make our will surrender" signs decorate the celebration area, where thousands of people join the Kurdish traditional dance halay with their colors.

HDP Mardin parliamentarians Mithat Sancar, Ali Atalan, and Erol Dora, TJA administrator Fatma Kurtalan, and HDP and DBP administrators are expected to address the crowd soon.

Police officers confiscated the banners reading 'NO' in response to the upcoming referendum with the excuse that 'there is a strict instruction that there will not be 'No' signs in the area today.'

ANTEP

Police officers continue to search people entering the Bus Station in Antep's Şehit Kamil district for the Newroz celebration that began at 11:00 in the morning. Police forces prevented people from entering the area with “Newroz Pîroz Be" [Happy Newroz] signs, and are forcing women to take off their red, green and yellow scarves. Many women oppose the imposition and celebrate Newroz at the entrance of the area.

On the other hand, police officers have deleted the footage of ANF reporters with the excuse that our reporters' press cards are not valid.

ADIYAMAN

People filled the Newroz Area in Adıyaman province to join the Newroz celebration with the motto “We will definitely win". Police officers prevented people from unfurling posters that read "We will definitely win”, “Newroz Pîroz Be" and "Either freedom or freedom," and seized these signs with the excuse that they 'are banned across Turkey.'

Women in traditional clothes and young people with red, green and yellow pushis are dancing halay as the celebration continues.

HAKKARİ

People began to flock to the Newroz grounds in Hakkari as of early hours in the morning. With their colorful national clothes, people passed through the checkpoints and entered the celebration area chanting slogans and dancing halay. HDP Amed parliamentarian Feleknas Uca and HDP Van parliamentarian Lezgin Botan are attending the rally here.

YÜKSEKOVA

In Hakkari's Yüksekova district where Newroz couldn't be celebrated last year due to continued curfew, thousands of people defied the Newroz celebration ban and arrived at the New Stadium area this morning.

People continue to flock to the area with their colorful clothes and dance halay despite all bans and obstacles.

AĞRI

People filled the celebration area in Ağrı province to welcome the Kurdish New Year Newroz. More people are arriving at the scene through free transportation from several locations in the city. People continue to dance halay, carrying signs that read 'NO' in Kurdish in the celebration area which is decorated with HDP and DBP flags and a poster that reads “We will definitely win, Newroz Pîroz Be".

HDP Ağrı parliamentarians Dirayet Taşdemir and Berdan Öztürk, HDP Iğdır parliamentarian Mehmet Emin Adıyaman, and Ağrı Co-mayor Sırrı Sakık attends the celebration that began with the speech of the organizing committee.

MUŞ

People started flocking to the square where the Newroz celebration in Muş is taking place as of early morning hours. The “We will definitely win” sign was not put up in the area after it was banned by the governorate yesterday, but HDP members were able to enter the area with 'NO' banners.
