Newroz celebrated by guerrillas in Kirkuk

Celebrations for the Kurdish New Year festival continue with great enthusiasm in guerrilla zones across Kurdistan territory.

Guerrillas in Kirkuk celebrated Newroz in Dakok, Keyban and Neafıl frontline.

The celebrations began with one minute's silence in memory of the martyrs and continued with great enthusiasm inspired by resistance.

The celebrations were attended by Makhmur-Kirkuk Commander Bawer Siverek, YJA-Star Makhmur-Kirkuk Commanders Raperin Gabar and Selim Zilan, Kirkuk front commanders Cesur Şoreş, Nuxeyla Siverek and Makhmur front commander Rengin Engizek in addition to several guerrillas.

Makhmur-Kirkuk YJA-Star Makhmur-Kirkuk Commander Raperin Gabar held a short speech here, in which she wished a happy Newroz to Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, to the Kurds and all peoples.

Gabar spoke about the history and importance of Newroz, and stated that the fire lit by PKK's leading figures Mazlum Doğan, Rehşan Demirel and Zekiye Alkan is growing today. She underlined that they will enhance their struggle for Öcalan's freedom with the spirit of Newroz in 2017.

The celebrations in Kirkuk continued into the late hours of the night with slogans and Kurdish traditional dance halay around the Newroz fire lit by guerrillas.
