Nine people jailed in Şırnak

For allegedly participating in February 15 protests in Cizre thirteen years ago, nine people have been arrested as PKK supporters and transferred to prison in Şırnak.

Nine people were arrested in the Kurdish province of Şırnak. Those affected are accused of taking part in protests in the Cizre district on February 15, 2008. Thirteen years after the incident, the Court of Cassation has confirmed the three-year prison sentences against twelve defendants. Of the twelve convicted, nine have been arrested in their homes and transferred to Şırnak T-type prison. Those named are Edip Yağarcık, Remzi Dadak, Hüsnü Dadak, Çetin Dayar, Tahsin Mendes and Yusuf Uykur.
