Today is World Kobanê Day. The celebrations in the Kobanê Canton started at 10.00 in the Şehîd Azad school, and dozens attended the activities despite the rain.

YPJ Spokesperson Nesrîn Ebdullah, Manbij Military Council General Commander Ebû Emced, Kobanê Canton Executive Assembly Co-chair Enwer Muslim, TEV-DEM Executive Council Member Ferhad Dêrik and representatives from NGOs and political parties attended the celebration.

YPG and YPJ fighters who are direct witnesses to the legendary Kobanê resistance were also present in the celebrations.

Photographs from the Kobanê resistance and paintings depicting the resistance were hanged in the celebration grounds. The cinevision show prepared for World Kobanê Day was also screened.

YPG Commander Sefqan Kobanê who was injured in the Kobanê resistance spoke in the celebrations and talked about the resistance days.
