One killed as ISIS attacks Kakai villages in Dakuk
ISIS gangs attacked two Kakai villages in south of Kirkuk Wednesday evening, two days after Hashd al-Shaabi took control of the area from Kurdish forces.
ISIS gangs attacked two Kakai villages in south of Kirkuk Wednesday evening, two days after Hashd al-Shaabi took control of the area from Kurdish forces.
According to local sources a group of ISIS members attacked Zava and Arab Koi villages of Dakuk, 20 kilometres south of Kirkuk. Gangs wearing Hashd al-Shaabi uniforms opened fire on the villagers. Villagers and volunteers returned fire and foiled the attack.
Seyit Cengiz Abas Vela, a Kakai Kurd, was killed and his brother was wounded as a result of the attack by ISIS gangs.
The Iraqi forces also responded to the attack and intense clashes are reported between Iraqi army and ISIS gangs around Zava and Arab Koi villages.
The Kakai villages were controlled by the Peshmerga before Hashd al-Shaabi took the control of the region on Monday.
