One killed as Turkish soldiers open fire on a civilian car in Rojava

Turkish border guards have raked through a civilian car travelling to Amûdê, leaving one youth dead.

Turkish soldiers deployed on the border between Rojava (West) and Bakur (North) Kurdistan have opened fire on a car, one of the dozens in which civilians were travelling from Dirbêsiyê and Serêkaniyê to Amûdê to participate in a march in protest at the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Hemze Ebdurrehman Dawid (24) was heavily wounded as a result of the attack and he was rushed to Dirbêsiyê Hospital where he lost his life despite all medical efforts. His body has been taken to Amûdê.

Hemze Ebdurrehman Dawid was an employee in the accounting department of the Martyr Xebat Hospital in Dirbêsiyê.
