State forces have intensified their aggression on the people joining a vigil of resistance in Girêmîra neighborhood of Mardin's Nusaybin district.
Turkish military and police forces are raiding houses in the neighborhood and detaining people in masses while also using intense tear gas and pressure water in an effort to disperse those gathering at the scene of the vigil which demands an end to the state of siege in Şırnak's Cizre district.
While the neighborhood remains under blockade, special operation teams have been positioned on some buildings.
Neither the delegation from IHD (Human Rights Association) Mardin branch nor groups coming from Nusaybin for solidarity is allowed access to the area amid the ongoing crackdown during which as many as 150 people have reportedly been taken into custody.
Detainees have been taken to Nezirhan Gendarme Command.
