Politician Hafız Ahmet Turhallı, President of Civaka Îslamiya Kurdistanê, Prof. Dr. Salar Basira, Cardiologist Zeynep Binici, Consultant Ronak Aziz, Linangan Foundation (Netherlands) artist Glorioso Jun Saturay, Progressive International Spokesperson Daniel Kopp and Yılmaz Pêşkevin Kaba, are the 7 members of the Peace Delegation to Defend Kurdistan.
The delegation has arrived in South Kurdistan (North Iraq) to hold a series of meetings aimed at stopping the invasion attacks carried out by Turkey.
The Peace Delegation, which first went to Hewler, met with the representatives of the Kurdistan Democracy and Freedom Party, the Kurdistan Communist Party and the Kurdistan Zahmetkêş Party on Monday.
The delegation then met with representatives of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) and the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP).
The Peace Delegation continued its talks on Wednesday, meeting with representatives of Yekgirtî, the United Nations and Kurdistan Islamic Association.
The delegation on Tuesday paid visits in Sulaymaniyah city to the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) representative, the women’s movement Kongra Star, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Yazidi Freedom and Democracy Party (PADÊ).
The talks focused on Turkey’s recently escalated occupation attacks and threats against Rojava and the issue of ISIS members held in internment camps in Rojava. The parties stated that European countries should take back their nationals interned in Rojava in order for a solution to be achieved.
