People have started a vigil and human shield action at 'Martyr Amed and Martyr Hêvîdar Cemetery' in Sîsê (Yolçatı) neighborhood of Amed's Lice district to protect the graveyard against the AKP's attacks on cemeteries of fallen Kurdish freedom fighters.
HUMAN CHAIN AROUND THE CEMETERY
Families and relatives of fallen guerrillas arranged the flowers in the graveyard and formed a human chain around the graves of martyred fighters of PKK, HPG, YPG and YPJ, chanting the slogan "Martyrs are immortal" and "Repression cannot intimidate us".
In the morning hours, the vigil was undertaken by groups coming from Amed under the leadership of MEYADER to protect the cemetery from attacks by Turkish forces, which recently became a part of the AKP's total war concept against the Kurdish people, movement and their values.
Participants of the vigil stated that they will protect their values at any cost and will not allow the demolistion of the Kurdish people's sacred places.
Kurdish people are now protecting the cemeteries of their beloved ones following the recent bombing and demolition of cemeteries of fallen fighters in Ağrı, Varto and Cudî.
