People of Shengal marched in Shengal Mountain in order to protest the capture of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan through an international conspiracy.

Êzîdî children chanting slogans of ‘No Life Without Leader’ and ‘Long Live Apo’ led the match in the Serdeşt region of Shengal Mountain organized by TEV-DA and the assemblies of Teachers, Youth and Shengal. Posters of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and banners demanding Öcalan’s freedom were displayed during the march.

‘LEADER APO IS THE CROWN OF MOTHERS’

Mothers from Shengal who attended the march spoke to ANF and condemned the capture of Öcalan through an international conspiracy. Mothers described Öcalan as the crown of mothers and said that they would follow his ideology until the end of their lives. Mothers emphasized that they would soon unite with Öcalan in a free Kurdistan, and saluted the on-going resistance in Northern Kurdistan.

‘YOU CANNOT DARKEN OUR SUN’

At the end of the march, the Independent Shengal Assembly made a statement on behalf of TEV-DA and the assemblies of Teachers, Youth, and Women. Here, the assembly condemned the international conspiracy of February 15 and stated that neither arrests nor massacres could block their sun; Abdullah Öcalan. Lastly, the assembly emphasized its determination to continue following the path and philosophy of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
