Hundreds of people from Şırnak, Gundikê Melê (Balveren) and Dêrgul (Kumçatı) towns have started to walk to Cizre to break the siege ongoing for 51 uninterrupted days and rescue the dozens who remain trapped in a basement for 11 days now.
HDP Şırnak MP Ferhat Encü is also joining the hundreds who started the march lined up hand in hand, chanting the slogans “People of Cizre aren't alone”, “Long Live the Resistance of Cizre”, “Everywhere Botan, everywhere serhildan (uprising)”.
The mass was stopped and blockaded by special operation police with armored vehicles and anti-riot vehicles in the town of Kasrik.
Speaking here upon a continued obstruction, HDP MP Ferhat Encü said they will not give up resistance until the siege in Cizre is ended. "We will be here. Our people will not be intimidated by this repression. Our people will break the siege", he underlined.
The people joining the march set up a tent and started a vigil of resistance in Kasrik town.
