As Kurds welcome their new year Newroz across Kurdistan and the world, Êzidîs at the Serdest Camp on Mount Shengal lit the Newroz fire and joined a Kurdish traditional dance halay around it, while youths staged a torch march to welcome the new year, day of resurrection.

In Khanasor town of Shengal, locals put up a tent close to the positions of KDP gangs, and danced halay around the Newroz fire they lit from the night till the morning.

On the other hand, YBŞ-YJŞ fighters celebrated Newroz lighting a fire in their positions.

In Amud region of Shengal, HPG guerrillas wrote Apo, the name of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan with their fire, and danced halay around the fire they lit to mark Newroz.
