PKK Martyrs’ Families Committee once again asks for murderers to be exposed

Members of the PKK Martyrs’ Families Committee once again met to demand the murderers of Martyr Yasin Bulut (Şükrü Serhad) be exposed.

Yasin Bulut (Şükrü Serhad), a member of the PKK Martyrs’ Families Committee fell as a martyr as the result of an armed attack, which was reportedly organised by Turkish Intelligence Service (MIT), in the neighbourhood of Çarçira in Sulaymaniyah at 9 am on 17 September. 99 days have passed since the murder, yet, no perpetrator has been arrested.

After the attack, the Sulaymaniyah police department announced that they would disclose some documents concerning the attack. However, no information has been shared so far.

Members of the PKK Martyrs’ Families Council, who have gathered in the neighbourhood of Çarçira in order for the perpetrators to be brought before justice, once again urged the Kurdistan Regional Government to expose the murderers of Yasin Bulut.

Dozens of families of martyrs, activists and residents of Sulaymaniyah gathered at the place where martyr Serhad was murdered.

The statement read on behalf of the committee said: “Today, we are here to remember Martyr Şükrü who devoted his whole life to the revolution and protection of the gains of the martyrs. Although 99 days have passed since the killing of Şükrü Serhad, his killers have not been arrested yet. The Kurdistan Regional Government and security forces have not released any information concerning the killing. As the PKK Martyrs’ Families Council, and friends of Martyr Şükrü, we will not remain silent against this murder. We condemn the security forces which conceal the relevant documents. We announce that we will keep our protest going until the murderers are identified and brought to justice.”
