A delegation of HDP officials was obstructed and assaulted by police and soldiers while leaving Şırnak for Cizre where a curfew and onslaught by state forces is going on for 3 days.

The delegation, made up of deputies Lezgin Botan, Burcu Çelik Özkan, Leyla Birlik, Berdan Öztürk, HDP executives and co-mayors, was stopped by police and soldiers while leaving Şırnak Thursday afternoon.

After police and soldiers assaulted the deputies in an attempt to prevent them from moving further,  HDP Muş deputy Burcu Çelik Özkan managed to pass over the police barricade and is walking to Cizre now, while the rest of the delegation remains at scene.
