Hundreds of people have gathered in front of Amed Municipality since last night to protest the detention of co-mayors and raid on the municipality. As the municipality building remains under a siege, police have attacked the people and HDP deputies on the nearby Lise Street.

In response to the police attack, HDP MPs Feleknas Uca, Besime Konca and Ayşe Acar Başaran stood in front of water cannons, upon which police attacked the three deputies. Feleknas Uca felt faint after the assault.

Despite the police attack with water cannons, people remain on the street, chanting “We will resist until victory” and “Pressures cannot intimidate us”.

More people are joining the crowd in front of the municipality building.
