In Şırnak where the curfew still continues, HDP MP Aycan İrmez’s home was raided this morning by special operations units.
The house İrmez had her official residency, her uncle’s house and her neighbor’s house were raided as well. A young man named Beşir İnan was arrested in her uncle’s house.
İrmez wasn’t home during the raid, but talked about what happened: “First they broke down my uncle’s door and started the raid. My mother and father got up to the noise and open the door. The special operations police rushed to our home in an instant. They pushed my family to the ground and ask them “Does Aycan İrmez live here?” My father told them I was a member of parliament and I had another official residency. But they go through with the search still. Then they write down a statement and leave.”
İrmez pointed out that it was the second time her home was raided and said: “The investigations on me are only just recently turning into lawsuits. For example, I have a hearing on November 22. There is no warrant for my detention or arrest yet. I filed a complaint after the previous raid, I will do so again. The raids show that we are being targeted. They have shown they don’t recognize the will of the people with the arrests they made. As a result of the same political approach, my home was raided for the second time.
