While the war-mongering Turkish media makes endless efforts to hide the failure of state forces in Amed's Sur district where an onslaught continues in its 54th day, the truth is being confessed by members of Turkish security forces themselves.
A policeman on duty in Amed's Sur district told that the state couldn't get what it wanted, and it hid the casualties suffered by Turkish forces there. The policeman who asked to be mentioned anonymous emphasised that the state could make no advance in Sur contrary to the reports claiming otherwise. He noted that there are still some neighborhoods that state forces couldn't enter at all yet.
'IT CANNOT GO ON LIKE THIS'
The policeman stated that clashes are ongoing in Hasırlı, Cumhuriyet, Savaş and Dabanoğlu neighborhoods, while no offensive has been launched on Alipaşa neighborhood where also there are trenches and barricades.
"It cannot go on like this. It seems difficult to close the trenches as much as I have been able to observe. Even if the trenches are removed, this issue will last for months", he underlined.
'RESIGNATIONS OF SECUITY MEMBERS REJECTED'
The policeman remarked that Turkish media reports which claim "Cleansing continues ceaselessly", "PKK is fleeing", "Soldiers and police act in in tandem" didn't reflect the truth. He noted that Turkish forces' failure to make advances caused huge demoralisation among military and police forces.
According to the policeman, many soldiers and policemen including him himself have submitted their resignation which were, however, not accepted.
'MANY CASUALTIES INFLICTED ON TURKISH FORCES'
Stressing that Turkish military and police forces have suffered a huge number of casualties in Sur, the policeman said these are carefully being hidden from the public opinion. "Morgues are full with corpses of slain policemen and soldiers", he added.
'WE DON'T KNOW THE ESEDULLAH TEAM'
The policeman said they do not know the people affiliated to the Esedullah Team which is a special unit of ISIS members acting alongside state forces. He said this team involved people who speak different languages, and their slain members are not being through official funeral ceremonies.
