PUK and Goran decide to act together in Kurdistan Parliament

PUK and Goran Movement groups in the Kurdistan regional parliament announced that they will work in the framework of common decisions and positions in the parliament. The drafts prepared before were also combined.

PUK Parliament Group Chairperson Bêgerd Talabani, Telar Letif, Xelef Ahmed, Kadir Rezgeyi and Salar Mahmut, Goran Movement Group Chairperson Birzu Mecid and Behar Mahmud, Bestun Fayiq and Roza Mahmud met yesterday in the Goran Movement Headquarters in Sulaimani's Zerget Hill.

PUK Group Chairperson Bêgerd Talabani and Goran Movement Group Chairperson Birzû Mecid held a press conference after the meeting.

Kurdistan Regional Parliament Goran Movement group chairperson Birzû Mecid said: “Following the agreement signed between PUK and Goran Movement, such a decision was made based on the Article 15. Both sides had prepared a draft for this. Today in the meeting we held we combined these two drafts.

PUK group chairperson Bêgerd Talabani pointed out that a decision had been taken in the political agreement signed between the PUK and the Goran Movement. Talabani emphasized that today they had reached the final state in this decision and said the following about the initiatives for the reactivation of the Southern Kurdistan Parliament: “All groups in the parliament were waiting for our party’s political initiative for the reactivation of the parliament. In this manner, several efforts were underway. We hope these efforts lead to the Kurdistan regional parliament working actively again. Our dialogue with the other parties and efforts for the reactivation of the parliament continue.
